Listen and obey
On Saturday July 13 President Trump was shot in the right ear by an assassin. Fortunately, Trump survived. The media evidently was unaware of the biblical significance of the piercing of the right ear. In Exodus 21:6 piercing of the right ear was a sign of servitude for life to the Lord! “Now these are the rules that you shall set before them. 2 When you buy a Hebrew slave he shall serve six years, and in the seventh he shall go out free, for nothing. 3 If he comes in single, he shall go out single; if he comes in married, then his wife shall go out with him. 4 If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out alone. 5 But if the slave plainly says, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free,’ 6 then his master shall bring him to God, and he shall bring him to the door or the doorpost. And his master shall bore his ear through with an awl, and he shall be his slave forever.” This admonition was repeated in Deuteronomy 5:17 “If your brother, a Hebrew man or a Hebrew woman, is sold to you, he shall serve you six years, and in the seventh year you shall let him go free from you. 13 And when you let him go free from you, you shall not let him go empty-handed. 14 You shall furnish him liberally out of your flock, out of your threshing floor, and out of your winepress. As the LORD your God has blessed you, you shall give to him. 15 You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God redeemed you; therefore, I command you this today. 16 But if he says to you, ‘I will not go out from you,’ because he loves you and your household, since he is well-off with you, 17 then you shall take an awl, and put it through his ear into the door, and he shall be your slave forever. And to your female slave you shall do the same. 18 It shall not seem hard to you when you let him go free from you, for at half the cost of a hired worker he has served you six years. So the LORD your God will bless you in all that you do”. (Deut 15:12-18) The ear is an instrument of communication or hearing and necessary for obedience. The Hebrew and Greek words used to Hear also or used for the word to Obey. The Hebrew word used to hear and obey is Sama. The Greek word for to listen or obey is Hupoakoua or literally to listen under. Remember and pray for your leaders.
“ Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.”

Short Poems
GOD IS NOT FAIR
God is not fair.
Some are born tall, some short
Some are born without arms or legs
Some are slow mentally, some brilliant
Some are ugly, some beautiful
Some are black, some yellow
Some are red, some white
Some are born in poverty, some to riches
God is not fair
If I were to receive God’s justice where would I be
If I were to stand before God’s judgement seat
Would he remind me that He requires spiritual righteousness
What would happen to me if God was fair
God sent His only son to die a horrible death on the cross for me
God is not fair
It was so unfair that Jesus who led a perfect life had to die for my sin
God is not fair
If God was fair, I would never see heaven, sinner that I am
Because God is not fair, I can receive the undeserved cleansing blood of Jesus
I thank God that He is not fair
